<div><strong>Job Description</strong><br/><br/>The Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team with Lockheed Martin in Boulder is looking for a research scientist to support ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts. The APEX team supports multiple programs related to mission processing applications of remote sensing payloads and multi-int fusion.<br/><br/>This position will be expected to:<br/>• work in coordination with our research scientists, FPGA engineers, and software engineers for all activities required to develop, test, and deliver prototype and fully capable systems. <br/>• work with software engineers to develop C++ and Python code. <br/>• perform data analysis to evaluate various mission processing solutions to determine the best one for various missions.<br/>• provide algorithm expertise (for detection, tracking and multi-int fusion purposes).<br/>• optimize performance of a signal processing chain.<br/>• possibly work on AI/ML algorithm applications.<br/><br/><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong><br/><br/>- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) from an accredited institution or an equivalent blend of education, training, and minimum 1 year of relevant experience.<br/>- Proficiency in MatLab and another programming language<br/>- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance<br/><br/><strong>Desired skills</strong><br/><br/>- Active secret clearance<br/>- Proficiency in C++ &/or Python<br/>- Linux OS background/Experience developing in a Linux environment<br/>- Applied mathematics or algorithm development experience<br/>- Experience working with data structures<br/>- Strong experience in software design and development.<br/>- Familiarity with tracking &/or signal processing algorithms<br/>- Experience with containerization tools like Docker<br/>- Experience with a machine learning platform such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras<br/>- Experience with machine learning for image segmentation and image generation<br/>- Experience with software vision control such as GIT<br/><br/><strong>Work Schedule Information</strong><br/><br/>Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.<br/><br/><strong>National Pay Statement</strong><br/><br/><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.<br/><strong>Benefits offered:</strong> Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. <br/>(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
